Road Rash is Not an Allergic Reaction to Inline Skating
Saturday July 7, 2007
Road rash has nothing to do with allergies or sensitive skin. And thank goodness it is not contagious. Road rash abrasions are very common sports injuries that are usually caused by a sliding fall on a hard textured surface. If an inline skater falls and slides on pavement, rough cement, gravel or any other rough terrain, friction will scrape some of the top layers of skin off. Road rash refers to any abrasion that removes these layers of skin. The best way to prevent road rash is to wear protective gear and protective clothing
