Houston Hosts Inline Indoor Speed and Outdoor Marathon
Friday October 12, 2007
The first Houston Inline Marathon and the first Mid America Speed League Meet at the Champions Rink have been scheduled back-to-back to offer a full weekend of inline racing on Saturday and Sunday, November 3–4, 2007. On Saturday morning, the rink will start with the 100 meter "Dash for Cash", two division races for the overall top three placements in each division and "Last Man Out" elimination races.
There may be other events, if time permits. After the indoor meet ends on Saturday, go to downtown Houston to pick up marathon packets, visit the vendor expo, enjoy live music, eat tex-mex food and attend Renee Coffman's free skate clinic. Sunday is inline marathon day with activities beginning early on Sunday morning. The Inline Marathon, Half-Marathon, and “Easy Street” Fun Skate will take place on Allen Parkway with recreational, amateur and professional inline racers and teams.Photo © Darlene Prois
