Cruising on Inline Skates is Really Cruising
Saturday October 20, 2007
Die-hard inline skaters may be pleasantly surprised at what is happening on seafaring cruises today. Royal Caribbean International was the first cruise line to offer inline and ice skating on their Voyager of the Seas cruise ship. Their Adventure, Explorer, Mariner and Navigator of the Seas ships have joined the Voyager of the Seas to offer both an inline skating track and an ice skating rink right on board. The inline track weaves around on deck, so you get a scenic view and some maneuvering challenges. The sides of the track appear to be well padded and deck rails are covered for safety. I guess that now, cruising on your inlines can take on a new meaning, since dry-land skating can now be done over water. If you have done any inline cruising on a cruise ship, we would love to hear how it went and whether it was worth packing the inline skates.

Went on a cruise – RC Voyager of the Seas almost 2 yrs ago. They have plenty of skates and not much of a path to skate on. Once was enough. Don’t pack your speed skates, because you’ll never get your heart rate up much above your resting heart rate. Fun for the kids.
