Gifts for Inline Skaters That Always Fit

Monday November 19, 2007
Buying inline skates or gear as gifts for an accomplished skater can be risky business, unless the skater has given you a very specific shopping list including sizes, models and foot tracings. But, there are some electronic accessories that almost any of your loved ones who live to inline skate will cherish. These wonderful gadgets are useful and appropriate presents for almost any holiday or special occasion. And you won’t run the risk of a poor fit.

One example is the Garmin Forerunner Training System. It's is a GPS for your wrist that also lets you compete against your own inline skating workouts by comparing your current pace to past performances over the same run. It's a good fit for any skater.

I have a Forerunner 205 (the one shown in the picture above) and it has been a great investment in terms of improving my training. It has encouraged me to skate (and ride my bike) a lot more and further than I otherwise would have. It also allows me to vary my course more because I don’t have to rely on the route I’ve measure out to know how many miles I’m doing. Highly recommended.
