These Inline Skates Really Have Soul

Thursday November 29, 2007
Whether an aggressive skater uses hard boots, soft boots or skeletal boots, the complete skate package probably has soul. The soul plate is the large, flat plastic bottom that is attached to the hard outer boot shell of aggressive inline skates. The purpose of the oversized soul is to provide stability and support for the soles of the aggressive skater's feet as they perform stunts and tricks like jumps, grinds, slides and flips. Soul plates can consist of one or several parts and are an important working surface for slides and grinds.

The bottom view of this Rollerblade Rollerblade DT4 aggressive inline skates shows the wide flat soul plate under the boot.
