An inline skater's feet can do some real funky moves, if the music is just right. That cool, funky, relaxed feeling often takes over when we have a good inline skating session. Unfortunately, sometimes a bit of other funk creeps in, too. Oh, my!
Most inline skaters’ feet sweat, so skates need to be aired-out after each use to dry the moisture and reduce the chance of smell and the growth of bacteria. Fortunately, some of these pieces of protective gear and boot insides can be washed. The best way is to either hand wash them or place them inside a cloth or net bag (even a pillowcase will do) on the mild cycle in your washing machine. In either case use mild soap. And do not use a dryer. All of these gear items should be air dried. If there are any doubts, you can contact the manufacturer of your inline skates and gear for their recommended cleaning method.
