Will a Holoholo Board Help Develop Balance?

Thursday April 10, 2008
Being a guide opens the door to interesting new off-skate exercise considerations - like will cross-training on this cute balance board from Holoholo Board Sports help my inline skaters improve their balance.

The pipe roller underneath can be adjusted to a position that is parallel to the board as well as perpendicular to the board. Most balance boards have a perpendicular pipe to help skateboarders perform street maneuvers like 360s or kick turns. But the manufacturer suggests that an inline skater would benefit from using it "skier style" with both feet and the pipe parallel to the board.

Balance boards are currently used by surfers, snowboarders, skateboarders and other board sports. It certainly looks like fun and appears to be safe for all ages. Have any inline skaters out there tried one of these?

If this works for inline or even provides a little extra exercise and a new cross-training toy, I just might get one to pump up my skaters.
