Sabatino Aracu Hopes to Lead Us Into the Olympics

By February 12, 2009

Follow me on:

On Saturday February 7, 2009, the Elective Congress of the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) voted Sabatino Aracu of Italy as President and Valerie Leftwich of Australia as the First Vice President of the roller sports world governing body for another four year term.

The Elective Congress was streamed live over the internet for the first time, with 84 different countries as the audience. And now that the dust had settled, the election is over and leadership is established, it's time for all countries to work together with President Sabatino Aracu and FIRS to get Roller Sports into the Olympic Games.

What can you do as an individual? Say good things about your sport, invite friends to skate, wear Olympic gear and remember that inline skating is not just competitive in the eyes of the Olympic committee, it's every individual skater and single spectator who cares enough about inline skating to do it or watch it.
