Inline Skating is Skate Maintenance

This is just a reminder that the things that you do with your inline skates are a part of your equipment maintenance routine. And if you are doing things that a pair of basic inline skates are not made to do, no amount of maintenance will keep them fit for skating.

• Inline skating is not a water sport, so try not to skate through puddles or wet grass.
  
  
• Inline skates are also not related to earth moving equipment, unless they are the off-road variety.
  
  
• Inline skates are not a weapon or a toy. This is for your children and the child in you.

Some skate maintenance needs, like inspections and cleaning, are so simple, even a child (overseen by a parent) can do them. Other things like replacing parts, removing stripped bolts or figuring out what's wrong with the way a boot fits may need professional help. Just remember that if you don't take care of your skates, they can't take care of you for the great skating season ahead.
