Get Inline Skating in a Box

Friday June 26, 2009

There are claims that inline skating has now been squeezed into a digital box. The Electronic Arts EA Sports Active workout program for the Nintendo Wii System offers something resembling inline skating and several other sports with timed workouts and a virtual personal trainer in a game format designed to help keep you fit.

If you already inline skate, there's nothing like the real thing. Squatting and jumping with Wii inline skating will not relieve your skate fever. And the only way you will feel the wind on your face will be if you turn on a fan. But, this computer game can help you cross train, if you use it regularly and mix the activities. If you don't workout often or are a game-geek, this may help take the curse off of exercising and fulfill your digital needs, too. With a little practice and understanding what makes the software work, you can do tricks. And EA Sports even offers a Motivation Center to keep you pumped up.

Remember that 35 minutes of real inline skating can burn around 260 calories compared to about 170 calories on the Wii. But, either will do more good than watching someone skate on TV.
