If your older kids participate in school activities, team sports and go to residential camps, consider taking the younger families to skating school. They will have a good time while building the foundation for a lifetime of inline and quad skating activities. Most local skating rinks offer Learn to Skate Day Camps, class programs or daytime preschool sessions for children 2 1/2 to 5 years old.
These programs are affordable and usually run in 5 week sessions. Training usually lasts 15-30 minutes in length and is sandwiched in between up to 2 hours of fun for parents and kids. Many offer drop-in day rates, too. Even if it's not officially called a day camp, you can let the little ones think it's one - so they'll think they're skating like the big kids.
