You can work in or near inline or roller skates even if coaching or turning pro is not an option, by finding a full-time job or a supplemental income source that makes use of your inline or roller skating experience:
- If you think inline or quad roller skates are cool, visit the Sonic Drive-In career site for employment information.
- The Roller Skating Association classified ad pages feature rink management job listings, facilities for sale or lease and ads for rink supplies and equipment.
- Contact USA Roller Sports or Team USA Olympic Sport Jobs to find management, sports science and other career opportunities with the skating and Olympic sports governing bodies.
Inquire at skate parks, skating rinks and centers, local skate shops and sporting goods retail stores to find skating related job opportunities. Many skate manufacturers and distributors have entry level jobs or career openings, too. If you don't have a company or organization in mind, sometimes job search engines like Monster.com, Simplyhired.com or Indeed.com have information on jobs in skating or related sports.
Have you ever worked in an inline skating or roller sports related job? Share your skating employment story and tell us about the job you found, how you found it, what your job responsibilities were and whether you would recommend this type of employment to another skater.
