Starting today, Piacenza, Italy is hosting the 2010 RollerSoccer Club World Championship in indoor and outdoor hockey arenas in the downtown area of the city. Events continue through Sunday with teams representing countries from all over the world in the four-day competition. Participants may include Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Germany, India, Italy, the Netherlands and the United States.
This game of soccer on skates looks like a mix of hockey and soccer in a rink environment. It originated as a street game in San Francisco in 1995. And now the RollerSoccer International Federation is based in that city. Tournament tickets are still available, and transportation information is available on the official site.
