Fabulous Fabiola da Silva was born on June 18, 1979 in São Paulo, Brazil. She began skating at age 15 and learned fast enough to enter the professional skating world in 1996. Nicknamed Fabby, she competes on the LG Action Sports World Tour and has received over fifty medals in their events. In seven years of X Games competitions from 1996 to 2001, she earned six Gold Medals and one Silver Medal, making her the most decorated female athlete in X Games history.
By 2002, her level of skating skill was so high that inline promoters had to allow limited gender integration at the professional level of the sport. The Aggressive Skaters Association created a "Fabiola Rule" to allow women to compete in vert competitions that were traditionally all-male.
