These iPhone applications are great tools to help make your inline skating activities more productive and more fun. Many more are available on the internet or by surfing around through your iPhone. There are a lot of good inline skating apps for android phones to choose from, too.

1. Skate Class for Beginners

Skate Class for Beginners provides a series of high quality video inline skating lessons that include instruction from absolute beginner through skating forward with confidence. It also teaches a variety of ways to execute stops and turns. The video includes still key frames and slow motion sequences along with engaging presentations of stance, stroking, turning, braking and more. The Roll In Line app was designed to help you to teach yourself, your children, or your friends how to inline skate. This app has a simple teaching method supported by over 30 high definition videos with slow motion, multiple angles and instructions. All of the tutorials are stored on your mobile device and do not require an internet connection. The Roll In Line app system is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 3.0 or later.

4. PenaltyTimer for Derby

PenaltyTimer is an iPhone/iPod touch application made specifically for Roller Derby. Traditionally a penalty box official has to juggle up to three stopwatches, sometimes stopping and starting all three between each jam. With PenaltyTimer, juggle stopwatches are not necessary. iSkate is a GPS inline and roller skating application designed for tracking your rides on your iPhone. It provides all the information you need on the road. It shows accurate values for current speed, average speed, maximum speed, total distance, trip distance, current altitude, climbed altitude, burned calories as well as trip time, and units can be set to US or metric. You can watch yourself automatically move on the map, zoom in on your trail, receive your trips via email (KML und GPX) and even suspend, pause and resume during breaks in your trip. There is even a map that already includes trails.

8. RunKeeper App

RK (RunKeeper) has a chart that tracks pace, and it integrates with Twitter and Facebook. It can report time, distance, speed and even your calorie count for skating.

9. Motion X GPS App

Motion X GPS lets you login for your distance on google map, average speed and max speed on the screen. It even has a Facebook check-in button. Motion X is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 3.1 or later.

10. SportyPal App

SportyPal is an easy to use mobile work out application that works on iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Java, Symbian and Windows Mobile apps. You activate this app when you start skating or any distance traveled type fitness activity. SportyPal will overlay the path skated on google maps, keep track of tons of data, and upload information to the web.
