In 1996, two enthusiastic professional in-line skaters, Carles Bial and Toni Pla, founded the Escola Oficial de Patinatge Inline in the North Sports Station in Barcelona (Polideportivo de la Estación del Norte). Their goal for the school was to minimize the potential risks posed by street skating. This is the first and only skating school certified by the Catalan Federation of Skating (Federación Catalana de Patinaje). Thousands of skaters have learned to skate and learned to love skating in this skating school.
The Escola Oficial de Patinatge Inline conducts classes in a covered sports hall that is good for inline skating lessons and practice. The range of experience of the instructors includes speed skating, inline hockey, figure skating, dance and aggressive skating.
