Elite Training for Speedskaters:

Sk8SKOOL is an Elite Sports Academy for Speedskaters. The concept of this service is to provide support for skating clubs, coaches and their elite skaters.

Supplemental Prep for Competition:

Personal coaching at Sk8SKOOL provides supplemental training opportunities for competitive speedskating athletes who want to increase their speed, strength and technically abilities.

Limited Training Group Size:

At Sk8skool, the training group sizes are restricted to eight elite skaters, four masters skaters and four youth skaters each year.

The Sk8SKOOL Elite Training Program for Speedskaters is housed in the Gerlev Sports Academy in Slagelse, Denmark which has superb facilities for speedskating and many other sports. The Academy has excellrnt speedskating facilities including an extra-large sports hall (50m x 25m) with a tight floor, a fitness room for strength and stabilization training, a movement studio with wall mirrors for slideboard training, a gymnastic studio for explosive and jump training and a street-movement park for functional training and body conditioning. There are also swimming, beach volley ball, frisbee, golf, football and sauna facilities on the site.

Each skater who attends the Sk8SKOOL Elite Sports Academy receives many personalized services including training programs (speed, endurance and strength), technique correction, video analysis, off-skate programs, mental conditioning and goal setting, physical performance testing as well as development activities, challenges and experiences. The participant group will train together three to four times each week.

The head coach at Sk8SKOOL is Sutton Atkins. He also teaches sports psychology, swimming, massage, skating and the fitness speciality at the Gerlev Sports Academy. Sutton has many years of experience including 10 years of teaching, 20 years of international skating, 21 years of coaching, 29 years of skating and 33 years of involvement in competitive sports.
