Definition: Free skating is a mix of aggressive and recreational skating. These free skaters make use of aggressive stunts as they skate on city streets, sidewalks and available structures using the shortest or fastest methods possible to reach their destination. Free skating is also called urban skating or free riding and incorporates aggressive styled tricks including sliding, grinding and jumping. Theses stunts require firm boots for good support like the aggressive skaters, short frames for maneuverability like slalom skaters use, but often need bigger wheels for a little more speed since they are really using these skates for transportation.
