Definition: The inline skate lubricant works to keep metal parts from rubbing against each other to reduce friction, heat and unnecessary wear on the parts. Lubricants also help to keep dirt and grime away from delicate parts of the skate. The two most common lubricants are oil and grease and oil. They are usually used in the wheel assembly and bearings, but are sometimes used in other areas that may need occasional service like the brake or stopper assembly to help keep these fittings rust-free and make removal of dirt and grime easier.
