This Inline Figure Skater Wants a Place at the Top
Tuesday January 15, 2008
Sarah-Jane Jones of Wellington, New Zealand is already a three-time world medalist in ladies' inline figure skating. Now, she wants to become the world champion of that event.
She was disappointed with her fourth place at the 2007 World Championships on the Gold Coast of Australia. So, she is skating hard, cross-training, following a strict fitness regime, and plans to come to the United States to work with two coaches in California to further develop her skating skills, as reported in the New Zealand Herald.
Sarah-Jane is the only artistic skater in New Zealand that has earned more than one world level figure skating medal. She is the national champion in every event she competes in which includes quad free skating , inline free skating, compulsory figures, solo dance and creative dance. But, Sarah-Jane's goals are high. She is determined to get to the top of the podium in inline ladies singles this year at the 2008 World Roller Figureskating Championship in Taipei.
