The RBK 8K Pump roller hockey skate has a new look and a unique name.
The skate is now called the Resurrektion. This inline hockey skate has a ton of features, but it is named for Reebok's Pump technology which allows you to pump up the skate's inner boot support to conform to the shape of each individual foot.

I wonder how the pump technology would
be on 5 wheel racing skates where fit is
so important?
I was with Reebok when the original Pump hockey skates were introduced. It was actually a joint effort with CCM, where a full wrap-around Pump system was placed in a traditional hockey boot. The same system was employed in a TPU shell fitness skate.
Although the Pump system worked as designed (and it had an Insta-Pump inflation valve, to boot), the weakness in the products were the frames. The chassis was fairly flimsy in comparison to other plastic frames produced by Rollerblade, Roces and Bauer, and it eventually failed in comparison.
And you’re right, a Pump system would work great in a speed boot. the problem was a matter of engineering. Of the four inflation bladder designs produced, non would have been truly appropriate in that kind of upper configuration. Producing the right kind of match would require a huge financial investment by Reebok, and I’m not sure there would be enough of a consumer audience to outweigh those costs. Great idea, though!
