Donate Old Skates to Help New Skaters

By June 9, 2009

Follow me on:

Your old inline skates will look pretty good to the underprivileged kids who attend the YMCA Camp Boomerang in Flint, Michigan. So, Summit Sports of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan is partnering with the YMCA to provide refurbished inline skates for children who attend the camp.

Summit Sports needs those gently used inline skates that are gathering dust, so they can be overhauled and donated to the camp. Bring or send your adult and child-size skates to any of the the four Summit Sports stores in Rochester, Farmington Hills, Lansing or Brighton, and if you need a new pair of inline skates you'll get $10 off any pair purchased at Summit Sports. No purchase is needed to donate skates, though.

At YMCA Camp Boomerang, no child is denied an opportunity to attend YMCA programs. The 30 acre camp places special emphasis on new experiences, imaginative play, learning, outdoor skills, fitness and developing social skills. There is a one-mile paved nature trail for walking or inline skating through the woods. Eventually there will also be an inline hockey program. The YMCA is still accepting registrations for its summer program, so sign up for YMCA Camp Boomerang today.
