Roller sports are really growing in India. Bharati Deshpande of the Prowins Skating Academy and Team Prowins in Nagpur reports that skating is the fastest growing sport in the country. There are many participant skaters, so the country is working hard to develop the infrastructure and expertise needed to support roller sports. Right now, the city of Nagpur has one of the finest skating facilities in India. Skaters at the N.I.T. Skating Rink enjoy the benefit of a parabolic banked track that is an exact replica of the track in Colorado Springs, U.S.A.

If you want more information about the N.I.T. Skating Rink, Prowins Skating Academy and Team Prowins, contact Bharati Deshpande. If you are looking for skating in your own area, look at the list of skating facilities in the United States and worldwide.

Skating is indeed one of the fastest growing sports in India. But, some cities like Mumbai do not have a single dedicated rink and we have to make do with sharing of sports in common areas or practicing at dead end roads during night time.
Am sure it’s just a matter of time(with such high participation), we coaches will make available better infrastructure.
